than are necessary; tedious by an
excess of words; wordy; as, "a
verbose speaker; a verbose argument." |
Greetings Coalition Family!
Welcome to first installment acknowledging African Heritage Month 2012. "The events which transpired five thousand years ago; Five years ago or five minutes
ago, have determined what will happen five minutes from now; five years From now or
five thousand years from now. All history is a current event." - Dr John Henrik Clarke Many of my unfortunate brethren have been moved to passionately protest the presence of the flag of the confederacy at public buildings in certain locations throughout the south. Although I understand the desire to purge our environment of symbols of the atrocities of the Afrikan Holocaust, I wish to bring to your conscious minds the fact that we only suffered under the confederate flag for four years, while we have been tortured under the stars and stripes for more than four centuries. If placed in the position of having to make an intelligent observation, which flag would you say is more representative of the tyrannical abuses to which we have been subjected? Copyright © 2004 G. Volunteer with Philabundance Fresh for All You recycle out the wazoo and consider yourself consigliore of the enviro-sack mafia. Hence, a cause you can believe in: Philabundance wants to fill those ubiquitous bags with produce through its new Fresh for All programs. And you can help by volunteering. The nonprofit hands out perishables at six sites in the Delaware Valley — where nutritious diet staples are hard to come by, especially in tough times. With a minimum three-hour commitment, you’ll keep busy. Help with admin, approve clients, or do community outreach (posting mailings, making phone calls). Looking for something physical? Take food to sites, divide apples, and dole out the goods. You’ll be doing a major part to help people get the fruits and veggies they need. And that’s a green movement to be proud of.
