Hereeeeeeeeeeeeees... Kathy’s Korner! One day, Bill and Tom went to a restaurant for dinner. As soon as the waiter brought out two steaks, Bill quickly picked out the bigger steak for himself. Tom wasn't happy about that: "When are you going to learn to be polite?" Bill: "If you had the chance to pick first, which one would you pick?" Tom: "The smaller piece, of course." Bill: "What are you complaining about? The smaller piece is what you got, right?"

Greetings Coalition Family!
Please bear with me while I play Dr. Phil for a moment. Why do people bully one another? Bullying is like psychological ‘bling’. It comes from not feeling good about yourself, so you try and build other peoples image of you by doing something that makes you appear larger or more valued in their eyes. The sick part about this is that although you may deceive the weak-minded, you never quite fool yourself; you remain that frightened little person seeking the approval of people who look at you only as a mild form of entertainment. So you continue to pile on the façade until you look as ridiculous as Flava Flav, or as stupid as George Bush.
“You have enemies? Good.
That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your
life.”
“We each hold a piece to the puzzle.” – Dr. John Elliott Churchville “Communicate… Cooperate… Collaborate” FOR OUR CHILDREN“It is easier to build children than it is to repair men.”…Frederick Douglass

SpotLight On Our Efforts
Scores of Information Advocates,
as they call themselves, are meeting today, Friday, May 25, at
Philadelphia's Central Library
to lay the groundwork for a network of resource-savvy helpers
willing to convert their passion about serving their community into a
formalized program to directly help people connect with other people
to make living, working, and raising a family easier or more
interesting.
The full-day citywide conference, to be held in the Skyline Room of
the Central Library, between 19th and 20th Streets on the Parkway,
will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue till 4:00 p.m., with
presentations in the morning about the need for an information
advocates network, the resources needed to make the network a
reality, and the issues faced in bringing the concept to fruition.
Information Advocacy is a term created by Stan Pokras, who was the
proprietor of a storefront information service in 1970 called
Everything for Everybody. Pokras, who is executive director of
Nonprofit Technology Resources, will lead the day's events, offering
news clippings and articles about his earlier efforts at providing a
community information service which he now describes as
"Craig's List on three by five cards."

ARTS FOR AWARENESS
I see little of more importance to the future of our country and of civilization than full recognition of the place of the artist. If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him. Pauline Kael

A HAND UP!
"None of us has gotten where we are solely by pulling ourselves up from our own bootstraps. We got here because somebody bent down and helped us." - Thurgood Marshall
America’s Original Savings Network
As amazing as it may sound many people do not realize how easy it is
to LEGALLY stop paying for their groceries! This is how the one hour
television show began for the company whose website is at:
A: All of our coupons are actual manufacturer coupons. Fewer and fewer retailers accept coupons that are printed from your computer because of a huge increase in counterfeit coupons. Actual manufacturer coupons which we issue are accepted everywhere that coupons are accepted.
Q: Can these coupons be doubled?
A: Yes. These are
manufacturer issued coupons and may be doubled in any store that
offers double coupons.
Q: What are the face values and the expiration dates
of these coupons?
A: Being manufacturer coupons, the
manufacturer determines the face values of the coupons. We
currently stock coupons ranging in value from 40 cents to 5.00
dollars. The coupon expiration dates are generally valid for 90
days.
Q: How can I use $1,000.00 worth of coupons in 90
days?
A: With our program, you get to choose the coupons you
want, when you want them. This way you never have to worry about
the coupons expiring.
Q: How do I choose the coupons I want?
A: Each
coupon book contains coupon request slips which you fill out and
send in. Those coupons are then mailed to you.
