Hereeeeeeeeeeeeees... Kathy’s Korner!

Digging to a depth of 1,000 meters last year, French

scientists found traces of copper wire dating back

1,000 years. The French came to the conclusion that

their ancestors had a telephone network centuries

ago.

Not to be outdone by the French, English

scientists dug to a depth of 2,000 meters. Shortly

thereafter headlines in the U.K. newspapers read:

"English archeologists have found traces of a

2,000-year-old fiber-optic cable and have concluded

that ancestors had an advanced high-tech digital

communications network a thousand years earlier than

the French."

One week later, Israeli newspapers reported the

following: "After digging as deep as 5,000 meters in

a Jerusalem marketplace, they found absolutely

nothing. They thus concluded that 5,000 years ago Jews were using wireless technology."

WORD-OF-THE-WEEK

tete-a-tete \TAYT-uh-TAYT; TET-uh-TET\ Private; confidential; familiar; A private conversation between two people.

Greetings Coalition Family!

A camper deep in the middle of the forest was awakened one night by a persistent itch. He realized he had been bitten by a mosquito and reached into his backpack for the remainder of the ointment he carried for insect bites. He saw how little he had left, so he used it sparingly. Twice more he was awakened in the same manner, and used the last of the ointment. He wondered aloud, “God, how am I going to get my rest with this mosquito feasting on me?” A calm voice echoed in his head…”Forget the bites, kill the mosquito!”

Moral: Much time and effort is spent treating the symptoms, while the cause goes unaddressed. – Ga’Kufu Ngosi Madu

Many of my unfortunate misguided brethren have been moved to passionately protest the presence of the flag of the confederacy at public buildings in certain locations throughout the south. Although I understand the desire to purge our environment of symbols of the atrocities of the Afrikan Holocaust, I wish to bring to your conscious minds the fact that we only suffered under the confederate flag for four years, while we have been tortured under the stars and stripes for more than four centuries. If placed in the position of having to make an intelligent observation, which flag would you say is more representative of the tyrannical abuses to which we have been subjected?

COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY

Free online journal focuses on technology for nonprofits
Technology can help nonprofits create the change they want to see in

the world. But even with daily evidence of world-changing innovations

and applications of technology, it's difficult for nonprofit leaders to

know how to apply it to their missions.
NTEN:Change, a free online journal from the

Nonprofit Technology Network,

provides the guidance and practical considerations nonprofits need to

make the sound investments and decisions that will help them meet

their goals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Are these manufacturer coupons or coupons that I print on my computer?

A: All of our coupons are actual manufacturer coupons. Fewer and fewer retailers accept coupons that are printed from your computer because of a huge increase in counterfeit coupons. Actual manufacturer coupons which we issue are accepted everywhere that coupons are accepted.

Q: Can these coupons be doubled?
A: Yes. These are manufacturer issued coupons and may be doubled in any store that offers double coupons.

Q: What are the face values and the expiration dates of these coupons?
A: Being manufacturer coupons, the manufacturer determines the face values of the coupons. We currently stock coupons ranging in value from 40 cents to 5.00 dollars. The coupon expiration dates are generally valid for 90 days.

Q: How can I use $1,000.00 worth of coupons in 90 days?
A: With our program, you get to choose the coupons you want, when you want them. This way you never have to worry about the coupons expiring.

Q: How do I choose the coupons I want?
A: Each coupon book contains coupon request slips which you fill out and send in. Those coupons are then mailed to you. ----- Coalition members! Activate ‘Your’ web link on The Coalition, Inc. web site -----
