Page 10 Hereeeeeeeeeeeeees... Kathy’s Korner! A guy gets home from work one night and hears a little voice. The little voice tells him, "Quit your job, sell your house, take your money, go to Vegas." The man is disturbed at what he hears and ignores the little voice.
The next day, when he gets home from work, the same thing happens. The little voice tells him, "Quit your job, sell your house, take your money, go to Vegas." Again, the man ignores the little voice, though he is very troubled by the event.
Every day, day after day, the man hears the same little voice when he gets home from work, "Quit your job, sell your house, take your money, go to Vegas." Each time the man hears the little voice he becomes increasingly upset.
Finally, after several weeks, he succumbs to the pressure. He quits his job, sells his house, takes his money and heads to Vegas.
The man gets off the plane in Vegas and starts thinking "What now?" Almost in response, the little voice tells him, "Harrah's." So, he hops in a cab and rushes over to Harrah's.
As soon as he sets foot in the casino, the little voice tells him, "Roulette." The man does as he is told. When he gets to the roulette table, the little voice tells him, "Seventeen."
Nervously, the man exchanges all his money for chips and puts them all on number 17.
The croupier spins the roulette wheel and drops the ball into the groove. Around and around the ball caroms. The man anxiously watches the ball as it slowly loses momentum and finally settles into ... number 21.
The little voice says, "Oopsie!"

Greetings Coalition Family!A Real Look at Colonialism You have to understand how this system of colonialism works. Once it is in place, they target the children; they target the children so they can produce the types of subjects they can control. They bleach out the culture, self-esteem, national pride and nationhood and replace it with the mores and values of the new dominant culture. The children are taken away from the family with traditional values, and placed in institutions, where they are institutionalized into a type of hybrid being. They are forbidden to speak the native language, observe the spirituality or practice the cultural things necessary to preserving a culture. They are taught to revere the colonialists, desire to mate with them, producing mixed children, and the more mixed the better. You have now produced the perfect self-hating being that will do anything to advance in the dominant culture. You have created the Negro.
The older people are also isolated; they are forced to live below poverty level as an example of what not to aspire to. Their communities are oppressed and foreign vices are introduced, and as a result, crime increases and is allowed to run rampant. Anyone not willing to assimilate gets relegated to this status, while certain limited opportunities are granted the institutional graduates. These communities are labeled ‘Ghetto’ ‘depressed areas’ ‘projects’ and these negative labels are accepted, and thus actualized and perpetuated by the inhabitants.
This perfect system has been used all over the dark world; the Americas, India, China, Australia, the entire African continent. People even voluntarily emigrate to these colonial strongholds to become a part of the system. Our folk have long echoed, “Education is the solution”, and they are and always have been right. But the difference between education and institutionalization must be understood before we can truly free our minds. We must educate ourselves about the systems we seek to overturn. And no matter how you term it, what we seek will overturn the current systems. We must know where the poison came from, when and how it was administered, how it works before we can produce and prescribe an antidote. We must know who we were before we were poisoned. We must understand our role in the maintenance of the colonial system before we can plan a way to extricate our families and ourselves. If you want to avoid being killed by a shark, do you go voluntarily into its mouth and try to rearrange his digestive system to require vegetation only, or do you seek to change his mind. There are certain sea creatures sharks will not attack. Why? Because they make dining on them such an unappealing prospect. So, while we are planning our exit strategy, we must first make messing with us as unappealing as possible. Ed.

With the winter moratorium over for Utility shutoffs, many families have to make the decision to pay their utility bills while sacrificing necessities such as summer food for their children. SpotLight On Our Efforts
THE FRONTAL ATTACK
by the The Nation of Islam to check the violence tearing down what is left of The National Black Community.
Rather than conduct it's Men Meeting Monday evenings, the Fruit of Islam (The Men) have mobilized in the streets in a reported "100" cities across America. The objective is to organize community wide efforts of every element in the community to clean up the so-called "up tick in violence" that haunts us. Whatever city we happen to be in, please report back if you intend to relate in some way to this important, historic initiative effort, led by Minister Louis Farrakhan, The National Representative of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

Open Letter To Our Community:Save Sistas' Place
by Bob Law
It is called Sistas' Place, but in realty, it has always been our place. For 17 years, Sistas' Place has remained one of the most courageous, significant, independent, stand-alone cultural institutions serving the Black Community.
This is one cultural and political institution that truly belongs to us, and as such we will sustain it. Sistas' Place has no corporate sponsors, wealthy guardian angels, but Sistas' Place has you and I. And the good news is that 's enough.
To address their critical financial challenge, we are launching a Sistas' Place
membership drive . We need 400 people in the next 20 days to become sustaining members of Sistas' Place by buying a $30 membership. Please
become a sustaining member by sending your membership fee of $30 to
Sistas' Place, 456 Nostrand Ave., Brooklyn 11216. Make checks, money orders payable to the Harriet Tubman, Fannie Lou Hammer Woman's Coalition

Million Fathers March
The
Million Father March is an opportunity for Black men to show their
commitment to the educational lives of their children on the first
day of school and throughout the school year. On the first day of
school each year since the March began in 2004, Black fathers,
relatives, men, and significant male caregivers are asked to take
their children to their first day of school. Fathers,
grandfathers, foster fathers, stepfathers, uncles, cousins, big
brothers, significant male caregivers and friends of the family
will participate in the event. Last year, 100,000,000 fathers in
767 cities took their children to school on the first day of
school. This year we expect 1,250,000 fathers in 800 cities to
participate in the Million Father March 2012.
Among
the participating cities is our very own Philadelphia. A former
educator and proud father David Fattah is the coordinator for the
Million Father March 2012 here. This year for the first time The
House of Umoja will be creating a companion journal to accompany
the March and would like to distribute it to the participating
fathers and care givers and also the interested public not only
here in Philadelphia but also in the other participating
cities.
