A woman in our office was promoted to supervisor and some of the older male workers were having difficulty accepting her authority.
While she instructed one such subordinate, he interrupted with, "Young lady, I'm old enough to be your father."
"And," she replied, "I'm old enough to be your supervisor."

Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world's estimation, and publicly and privately, in season and out, avow their sympathy with despised and persecuted ideas and their advocates, and bear the consequences. – Susan B. Anthony

Greetings Coalition Family!TO MY EVOLUTIONIST FRIENDSWilliam Boyd suggests in his research of the genetics and races of man: “We should find the blackest of skins amongst men in the hottest parts of the world with strong sun. In the very cold part of the world farther away from the Equator with less sunshine, we find lighter skins among men.” This theory has been clung to by some of the greatest minds in the scientific world, and if you apply elementary logic to it, or should I say elementary school logic, you would concur. However, if you apply the same elementary school level geography to the theory, you will have reason to question the common sense of those great minds. Take a globe, any globe of the earth and trace the equatorial area between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn westward from the continent of Afrika. After you leave the continent, do you find any other “burnt” people? The entire continent of Afrika has indigenous black people, while there are only pockets of black people on the other continents which suggests migration and/or exploration. Now, where is the logic in suggesting that climate determines “racial” characteristics? I’m not one to subscribe to the race theory, but from what I understand, geneticists have determined that the caucasion is 65% Afrikan, and 35% Asian, so, if climate truly has an effect on racial characteristics, then why don’t the Eskimos appear caucasion? Why aren’t Flroidians and southern Californians “burnt”. OK, now that it appears that freethinking people no longer have environmental evolution as a crutch, just what could be the explanation of the origin of different nations? This is where I will refer to one of the oldest history books we have at our disposal, the Bible, or its progenitor, the Torah. As previously stated, since the Torah/Bible was written from a black perspective, notations were made of people who did not conform to the norm, for instance see where an entire nation of whites originated: “The leprosy of Naaman shall cleave unto thee and thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.” (2Kings 5: 27). Clear enough? All his progeny forever will be as white as snow. Now some will try to tell you that this was the origin of albino people but do not be fooled! It is rare that an Albino child is born to an Albino parent. Members of this nation are all “as white as snow”. Most of us have been taught that we were cursed black as a result of the fictitious Hamitic curse, when in reality the opposite is true. So my evolutionist friends, I hope this has been at least food for thought. I do not expect you to run out and get baptized, but I do believe enough in your intelligence that you will no longer hold to, and spread theories that have been generated by racism. We each hold a piece to the puzzle.” – Dr. John Elliott Churchville “Communicate… Cooperate… Collaborate” FOR OUR CHILDREN“It is easier to build children than it is to repair men.”…Frederick Douglass
There are almost 150,000 Latinos in Philadelphia with almost 50% having children. This beautifully diverse population of Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Dominicans and Latin Americans bring so much culture, ingenuity and grace to our city. Many are recent immigrants and like many of our forefathers, can be a little lost in this large cuidad. On the www.cap4kids.org/philadelphia website, under the Immigration/Refugee handout (http://cap4kids.org/philadelphia/parent-handouts/immigration-refugee-services/latino-resources/) you will find a subcategory of resources for Latino families (as well as a separate subcatogy for Asian families).
Please also remember that this and all content on CAP4Kids can be translated into almost any language using the flags at the bottom of each page. Thanks. ----- Coalition members! Activate ‘Your’ web link on The Coalition, Inc. web site -----

2013 Bill Gates Scholars Program Giving Away 1,000 Scholarships to
Minority Students
Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- In recognition of Black History Month,
Nationwide Insurance is encouraging consumers to get on line to share, build and capture important family history in celebration of the rich heritage and legacy of the African American family. In addition, consumers can visit Pandora.com to build a personalized music library and support the
United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
Every year, the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000
talented minority students to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. The program provides scholars with personal and professional development through our leadership programs along with academic support throughout their college career.
Administered by the United Negro College Fund, the program was initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Since 1999, it has funded the education of more than 16,000 students, awarding them more than $614 million dollars to pay for tuition, fees, books and housing.
The program aims to reduce financial barriers for African American,
American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need; increase the representation of these target groups in the disciplines of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health and the sciences, where these groups are severely underrepresented; develop a diversified cadre of future leaders for America by facilitating successful completion of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees; and provide seamless support from undergraduate through doctoral programs, for students selected as Gates Millennium Scholars entering target disciplines
The deadline for submission is January 16, 2013.

THE FRONTAL ATTACK
by the The Nation of Islam to check the violence tearing down what is left of The National Black Community.
Rather than conduct it's Men Meeting Monday evenings, the Fruit of Islam (The Men) have mobilized in the streets in a reported "100" cities across America. The objective is to organize community wide efforts of every element in the community to clean up the so-called "up tick in violence" that haunts us. Whatever city we happen to be in, please report back if you intend to relate in some way to this important, historic initiative effort, led by Minister Louis Farrakhan, The National Representative of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

Technology can help nonprofits
create the change they want to see in
the world. But even with daily evidence of world-changing innovations
and applications of technology, it's difficult for nonprofit leaders to
know how to apply it to their missions.
NTEN:Change,

A HAND UP!
"None of us has gotten where we are solely by pulling ourselves up from our own bootstraps. We got here because somebody bent down and helped us." - Thurgood Marshall
America’s Original Savings Network
As amazing as it may sound many people do not realize how easy it is
to LEGALLY stop paying for their groceries! This is how the one hour
television show began for the company whose website is at:
A: All of our coupons are actual manufacturer coupons. Fewer and fewer retailers accept coupons that are printed from your computer because of a huge increase in counterfeit coupons. Actual manufacturer coupons which we issue are accepted everywhere that coupons are accepted.
Q: Can these coupons be doubled?
A: Yes. These are
manufacturer issued coupons and may be doubled in any store that
offers double coupons.
Q: What are the face values and the expiration dates
of these coupons?
A: Being manufacturer coupons, the
manufacturer determines the face values of the coupons. We
currently stock coupons ranging in value from 40 cents to 5.00
dollars. The coupon expiration dates are generally valid for 90
days.
Q: How can I use $1,000.00 worth of coupons in 90
days?
A: With our program, you get to choose the coupons you
want, when you want them. This way you never have to worry about
the coupons expiring.
Q: How do I choose the coupons I want?
A: Each
coupon book contains coupon request slips which you fill out and
send in. Those coupons are then mailed to you.
