We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.

Benefits of testosterone

Why Men Are Happier

Men can play with toys all their life.

Men can wear shorts no matter what their legs look like.

Men have one wallet and one pair of shoes which are good for every season.

Men can choose whether or not to grow a mustache.

Men can "do" their fingernails with a pocket knife.

Men's bellies usually hide their large hips.

Chocolate is just another snack.

The whole garage belongs to them.

Weddings take care of themselves.

Men's last name never changes.

Everything on a man's face stays its original color.

Men only have to shave their faces and necks.

Men can keep the same hairstyle for years, even decades.

Men can do their Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on Christmas Eve in 25 minutes.

For men, wrinkles add character.

Men can go on a week's vacation and pack only one suitcase.

Men's new shoes don't cause blisters, or cut or mangle their feet.

Men don't have to stop and think which way to turn a screw.

Men have one mood all the time.

A wedding dress cost $5000. A tuxedo rental - 100 bucks

Men can open all their own jars.

Have we not come to such an impasse in the modern world that we must love our enemies - or else? The chain reaction of evil - hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars - must be broken, or else we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

Well, the most pervasive mistake I have made was in believing that because our cause was just, we could be sure that the white ministers of the South, once their Christian consciences were challenged, would rise to our aid. I felt that white ministers would take our cause to the white power structures. I ended up, of course, chastened and disillusioned. As our movement unfolded, and direct appeals were made to white ministers, most folded their hands—and some even took stands against us… The white church, I’m sorry to say. Its leadership has greatly disappointed me. Let me hasten to say there are some outstanding exceptions. As one whose Christian roots go back through three generations of ministers—my father, grandfather and great-grandfather—I will remain true to the church as long as I live. But the laxity of the white church collectively has caused me to weep tears of love.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Page 22

It is an unhappy truth that racism is a way of life for the vast majority of white Americans, spoken and unspoken, acknowledged and denied, subtle and sometimes not so subtle — the disease of racism permeates and poisons a whole body politic. And I can see nothing more urgent than for America to work passionately and unrelentingly — to get rid of the disease of racism. ... Somewhere we must come to see that human progress never rolls in on the wheels of inevitability. It comes through the tireless efforts and the persistent work of dedicated individuals who are willing to be co-workers with God. And without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the primitive forces of social stagnation.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Page 23

This is a litany to those of us in this field. “What more will the Negro want?” “What will it take to make these demonstrations end?” Well, I would like to reply with another rhetorical question: Why do white people seem to find it so difficult to understand that the Negro is sick and tired of having reluctantly parceled out to him those rights and privileges which all others receive upon birth or entry in America? I never cease to wonder at the amazing presumption of much of white society, assuming that they have the right to bargain with the Negro for his freedom. This continued arrogant ladling out of pieces of the rights of citizenship has begun to generate a fury in the Negro…

Martin Luther King, Jr.

WORD-OF-THE-WEEK

intrepid \in-TREP-id\: Fearless; bold; brave; undaunted; courageous; as, an intrepid soldier; intrepid spirit.

Greetings Coalition Family!

As long as we allow other people, with alien agendas to influence our perspectives, set our value systems and formulate our plans of action, we will continue to see ourselves as the underdog, and function, or malfunction from a position of compromised power and a sense of victimization.

We continue to buy into the double value system that dictates when something impacts upon us negatively, we exhaust all legal and peaceful means of action before we give up and accept it as inevitable, meanwhile the system who applauds our non-violence as the sophisticated path of intelligent negroes, has never hesitated to unleash horrific “Shock and Awe” tactics on anyone who does not see things their way. Even their celebrated clergy encourages assassination (murder) of those who may interfere with the american way of life.1

We have gone as far as allowing our own children to be misdirected and miseducated for fear of “rocking the boat”. Following are just a few things that most of us have known, but never challenged. It is time to stop the lies, and who better to do it than us?

World History, as commonly taught, is the product of the plan of a tiny minority to stake claim to the riches of the planet, a people devoid of an honorable beginning, with neither a civilized culture nor a homeland to speak of. These people would have us believe that we are the minority in the world, and have been cursed with blackness!

There is an ongoing debate as to the origin of the species between science and theology, so let’s examine the facts through both schools of thought.

Science has determined that human life began on the continent we now know as Africa. In the early twentieth century, I think it was, a scientist by the name of Dr. Louis Leakey2 discovered in Olduvai Gorge, in what was once known as Tanganyika3 on the Afrikan continent, the remains of the oldest human fossil ever found (homo habielis). Since then discoveries of older human fossils, all melanic, have been made, and the vast majority on the continent of Afrika. This leaves little doubt, at least in the minds of most rational people, that the original people were people of color.

If man descended from the apes as some would have us believe, and the first men were black in color, as has been proven, then how is it logical that the apes skin is white, “created” mans’ skin is black, and "evolved" mans’ skin is white. Are they speaking evolution or mutation? Can there be a logical explanation as to why the apes also have straight hair, “created” man has nappy hair, and "evolved" man also has straight hair? OK... then what about the fact that apes have thin lips, “created” man has thick lips, and, you guessed it, "evolved’ man has thin lips4.

William Boyd suggests in his research of the genetics and races of man: “We should find the blackest of skins amongst men in the hottest parts of the world with strong sun. In the very cold part of the world farther away from the Equator with less sunshine, we find lighter skins among men.” This theory has been perpetuated by some of the so-called greatest scientific minds in the world, and if we apply elementary logic to it, or even ‘elementary school’ logic, we would be inclined to accept that theory. However, if we apply the same elementary school geography to the theory, we will have reason to question the common sense of those great minds.

If we take a globe or atlas of the earth and trace the equatorial area between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn westward from the continent of Afrika, after you leave the continent, do we find any other people with the blackest of skins?

The entire continent of Afrika has indigenous black people, while, with the exceptions of India and Australia (Spain, Greece, Turkey, China and Japan are all as far from the tropics as Australia [which has indigenous black people]); there are only pockets of black people on the other continents that suggest migration and/or exploration.

I’m not one to subscribe to the race theory, but from what I understand, geneticists have determined that the caucasion is 65% Afrikan, and 35% Asian, so, if climate truly has an effect on racial characteristics, then why don’t the Inuits appear caucasion? Why aren’t native Floridians and southern Californians of the blackest of skins? Where now, is the logic in the accepted theories that climate determines “racial” characteristics?

As I have been wont to say over the years, if you (evolved man) wish to claim to be the progeny of apes, please be my guest, far be it from me to deny you your heritage, but as for me, and my kind, we were created in the image of GOD ALMIGHTY (Blessings and mercies flow from Him).

I hope this has been at least food for thought for my evolutionist friends. I do not expect you to run out and be baptized, but I do believe enough in your intelligence to expect that you will no longer hold to, and propagate theories that have been generated solely by racism.

OK, now that it appears that freethinking people no longer have environmental evolution as a crutch, just what could be the explanation of the origin of different nations? This is where I will refer to one of the oldest history books we have at our disposal, the Bible, or its progenitor, the Torah.

In the Bible, it says “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground…”5 Anyone who does any gardening at all knows that fertile soil is black, especially newly created virgin soil. To change black soil into a white man would require an additional miracle, there is no mention of a miracle changing that soil to white or “ruddy”, as suggested by Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (I suppose bending the truth can be ‘exhausting’). Also, it is obvious the term ‘dust’ is a mistake in translation. Dust is a result of erosion, skin flaking, dander and manufacturing, situations not applicable to this instance.

Mlk Day of Service at Girard College

In August of 1965, Martin Luther King, Jr. addressed a rally in support of Cecil B. Moore’s attack on the segregated policies of Girard College.

Kenneth Salaam remembers marching around the walls of Girard College with civil-rights leader and lawyer Cecil B. Moore, who joined forces with others to protest the school's discriminatory admissions policy.

It was during the height of that movement, 45 years ago, when Martin Luther King Jr. traveled to Girard to call for unity. Salaam was one of the Freedom Fighters who skipped high school classes in 1965-66 to march at Girard College in protest.

"Thank God today that we kept our eyes on the prize and held on,"

Mel Dorn, a Freedom Fighter who demonstrated as part of protests to desegregate Girard College and worked closely with Cecil B. Moore and King, said the MLK Day of Service is an opportunity for everyone to participate in King’s dream for a better America.

It’s not about numbers — it’s about what you feel when you’re there. Everyone seems to have a feeling of hope and satisfaction of being around a group of people who care and want to help their neighbors,” said Dorn. “It just shows how far we’ve come.”

On Monday 21 January, the freedom Fighters will be present to help keep the dream alive at the 18th annual MLK Day of Service at Girard College, Girard Ave at Corinthian, come out and meet these pioneers of change.

HEALTH MATTERS

Don Ringgold's Health Wealth(sm): The Genesis Project (Article VIII)

Eating one thing at a time is ideal. The body processes that one thing without the power of that food being diluted. . Combinations should be limited to three different foods at a meal ideally. The stomach two thirds full will bless one with the best digestion. These are literal examples why moderation is the key.

In regard to breads toasted eliminates the yeast that would produce mucus in the system. Pumpernickel, rye, whole wheat, brown breads with no preservatives, are most nutritious. Unleavened bread is a good choice.

Although not recommended, if one chooses dark beer or ale, they are less mucus producing choices as well.  They are good choices toward transitioning to no alcohol or poisonous consumption. As the transition from non- living, to living foods are experienced, the taste buds change. Food tastes better and the cravings for food and drink that were stimulants begin to dissipate. The eyes, skin, and tongue are barometers for detecting encumbrance in the system. For instance, if the whites of the eyes are yellow, the liver is sending the message for help. A facial eruption, or an eruption somewhere else on the skin, is the warning system of the body. The tongue that is coated is indicating a build up of mucus and poison in the system. It’s wonderful when the individual can listen to his or her body. The more you try, the more you will be able to hear the physician in your heart; the true doctor you can ask about what condition your body is in.

“The closer you get to God, the closer God will get to you.” As time reveals the truth, an attunement with the inner self will emerge. One will hear what solutions are best. In fact we are already healed. It is our job to increase the resources of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in order to make harmonious judgments.

As the waste is loosened by proper diet and herbal application some people are confronted with the pull between the forces of good and evil or love and evil. The question is whom do we belong to? To whom do we belong?  This is where things can become critical. The person may feel tired or sick because the poisons are leaving the system. At this point there’s a real war going on. One force wants to give you life in abundance. The other wants to kill you. It can be a struggle. It is a struggle. We can learn to enjoy the struggle because; in the final analysis we will be in paradise.

The Philly Roots Initiative was developed by United Way and its partners in an attempt to systemically, yet creatively, ensure that young African American men graduate from high school and are college and career ready. The program equips formal and informal adult mentors with the tools they need to assist young men in achieving these goals.
   Eligible applicants include:
   * Individuals (coaches, community members, leaders of groups or small grassroots organizations) that have worked with the same group of at least five young black men in grades 6-12, for at least one year
   * Individuals who can commit to making a strong contribution to this emerging community of practice, and who will make a serious effort to increase the capacity and impact of their mentoring work and the broader Philadelphia community
   * Individuals who have been and will continue to do the work they’ve been doing regardless of whether there is funding or not, or whether they are being compensated to do it, and regardless of where they are employed. Individuals need not be employed or affiliated with a 501(c)(3) organization to apply.
Preference will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate that they are serving young black men in grades 6-12 at risk of dropping out of school, who attend schools on United Way’s Targeted Schools List.

Cathy Harris Launches a 2013

"National Health and Business Empowerment Tour"

Hello Everyone:

On January 2, 2013, I was on the road out of Atlanta, GA on my way to Detroit, Michigan to launch a "National Health and Business Empowerment Tour" starting in February 2013.

Other cities besides Detroit, MI where we have relatives and friends and plan on bringing the tour include - Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, Dayton and Youngstown, OH, Chicago, IL, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and California.

Remember if you keep doing things the same way, then you will get the same results, which means sometimes in order to become successful in your career, business and life, you need to "step out on your faith" -- outside of your comfort zone...so I felt that I needed to take my empowerment company, Angels Press, my services and products, nationwide.

As this country prepares for an EXPLOSION of sick people especially children, African Americans know very little about Genetically Modified foods so we will be educating the community on which foods to eat while avoiding Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

Let's face it - the education system in this country is horrible with 70% dropout rates of many African American students in many cities.  Either we change this system or we seriously look at 'home schooling' or building 'afrocentric schools' as an option (Read "How To Change the Education System."

Working with children is extremely hard and not everyone can do it!  Nowadays many teachers, after being abused by students, are retiring from the school system at the age 30.  On the other hand if you like working with children or if you are a retired educator, you need to write a good business plan and go to black banks and set up 'tutoring' and 'learning centers' in your own communities.

Our goals are to uplift the masses of people while reconstructing our communities to build vital nations.  In order to create a greater unity among the African American community, we must have an outlet to disseminate vital information in various forms that will assist us to promote and define our interests and aspirations.

Now it's time for a national tour, to really bring the message home.  This is why I recently launched another initiative "Cathy Harris School of Learning" to provide 'hands-on' training to the entire family via the phone, internet, etc. for those we can't reach on the tour.

As a veteran, I would particularly like to work with veterans.  We are seeking other speakers and trainers who can join us on this tour so we can make a major impact in African American communities across the country.  We just ask that you not be involved in any type of network or multi-level marketing ventures or anything that will negatively impact the community.

Whichever communities embrace our health and business "action plans" will be the communities we will be working with in the future.

The tour will be starting out in Detroit, MI in February 2013 -- where I will be in the surrounding area or states for at least 2 months.  If you would like to join us on this tour or add your city to the tour, or schedule an event, then call (770) 873-2072 or email info@CathyHarrisSpeaks.com with your name, phone numbers, website including facebook.com, twitter.com, linkedin.com and other addresses.

Family Survival Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization provides cultural, educational, spiritual and economic tools needed to create a positive and lasting legacy within the African American community.

Family Survival Inc., a 501(c)3 organization, was founded by Brothers Rashie Abdul Samad and Rashie Abdur Rahim after realizing that the key to reclaiming the African American community lies in re-establishing connection with Africa, it's art, history, culture, economy and people.  The program started with exposing young people to the culture of African music and art, as well as learning the basics of business.  While the founding principles remain intact, the program has expanded by partnering with other community organizations and businesses in the spirit of umoja (unity) to ensure our collective Family Survival. Together, these organizations will make an even greater impact on the youth and elders in the community for the benefit of whole.

ARTS FOR AWARENESS

I see little of more importance to the future of our country and of civilization than full recognition of the place of the artist. If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him. Pauline Kael

On Saturday, January 19th, the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee will host its 17th annual dinner tribute to our political prisoners and their families!
This highly anticipated and moving event will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Labor Center, 1199 Union Headquarters, 310 West 43rd Street, (near 8th Avenue), in Manhattan.
The event will be from 3-7pm with dinner served promptly at 4pm. Donations for this now time-honored event are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Proceeds from this gathering go to the commissary of the political prisoners who are represented at the dinner by their families.
The theme for this year’s dinner is “Transforming Solidarity: Working Together To End Political Imprisonment and Mass Incarceration.”
“We chose this theme because it’s time to critically look at what we’re doing and how we’re doing it,” Dequi Kioni-Sadiki, co-chair of the Committee and co-chair of WBAI’s ‘Where We Live.’
“At some point it becomes important to recognize that it is not enough to say ‘I am doing something’; At some point, we have to figure out just what must be done to get results,” she finished emphatically.
Special guests presenters for this year are Johanna Fernandez, producer of the critically acclaimed film ‘Justice On Trial,’ about Mumia Abu-Jamal, Malik Rhasaan of Occupy The ‘Hood and people’s hip hop artist Jasiri X!
This year’s dinner comes on the heels of Mumia Abu-Jamal’s death sentence being tossed and on the heels of political prisoners like Jalil Muntaqim being denied parole again. Muntaqim has been in prison since 1973.
The Malcolm X Commemoration Committee was launched in 1993 with former political prisoner Herman Ferguson serving as chairman. Ferguson, now 91, was also a founding member of the Organization of AfroAmerican Unity with Malcolm X and was with him up until that fateful day February 21, 1965, when Malcolm was tragically assassinated.
In addition to combating misinformation surrounding the legacy of Malcolm X and multiplying the presence of the community for the very moving annual pilgrimage to Malcolm’s gravesite on his birthday, the Committee also initiated this dinner 17 years ago to bring the community together to build greater support for Black and New Afrikan political prisoners and to instill greater appreciation for their humanity and for what their families have to endure in the face of their wrongful incarceration.
The Malcolm X Commemoration Committee has always said that Black and New Afrikan political prisoners, who were young men who were directly inspired by Malcolm to join the Black Liberation Movement, make up “the hidden legacy” of Malcolm X. Many were viciously targeted by the government’s COINTELPRO operations of the late 60s early 70s. Those operations assassinated activists, framed activists, fostered violence between activists and the police and even fostered violence between activists themselves. To this date, there are dozens of political prisoners and prisoners of war who are still in prison from frameups dating back to the 60s in most cases!
For more reservations and more information, please call 718-512-5008. ‘Like’ us on Facebook at Facebook.com/Malcolm X Commemoration Committee...

New York City Seeks the Best Ideas, Resources and People to Help Build up Young Men of Color

The Expanded Success Initiative (ESI, a component of the Young Men's Initiative, is currently seeking applicants for the ESI School Design Fellowship.

The Expanded Success Initiative School Design Fellowship will design and launch a breakthrough high school model whose outcomes are measured by college and career success for Black and Latino young men and women.

The model will result in the launch of eight new high schools that pilot the new design, proposed to open in fall 2014 as both district and charter variations.  The schools will serve both young men and women, enrolled primarily from five of NYC's highest-poverty neighborhoods.

The Expanded Success Initiative (ESI) is an educational component of the city's Young Men's Initiative, the nation's boldest and most comprehensive effort that tackles the broad disparities slowing the advancement of Black and Latino young men. ESI is generously supported by the Open Society Foundations and administered by the NYC Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Readiness.

The ESI School Design Fellowship will bring together a diverse cadre of potential school leaders, from which the principals of the new schools will be drawn.  Fellows can come from the fields of youth and community work, or entrepreneurship and management, or educational reform or another relevant field.

We are looking for exceptional leaders who are excited by this challenge and are ready to join a career-making opportunity in our fellowship program. Fellows must be available to begin full-time work by July 1, 2013, although individuals who are available can begin on-boarding in April 2013.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Are these manufacturer coupons or coupons that I print on my computer?

A: All of our coupons are actual manufacturer coupons. Fewer and fewer retailers accept coupons that are printed from your computer because of a huge increase in counterfeit coupons. Actual manufacturer coupons which we issue are accepted everywhere that coupons are accepted.

Q: Can these coupons be doubled?
A: Yes. These are manufacturer issued coupons and may be doubled in any store that offers double coupons.

Q: What are the face values and the expiration dates of these coupons?
A: Being manufacturer coupons, the manufacturer determines the face values of the coupons. We currently stock coupons ranging in value from 40 cents to 5.00 dollars. The coupon expiration dates are generally valid for 90 days.

Q: How can I use $1,000.00 worth of coupons in 90 days?
A: With our program, you get to choose the coupons you want, when you want them. This way you never have to worry about the coupons expiring.

Q: How do I choose the coupons I want?
A: Each coupon book contains coupon request slips which you fill out and send in. Those coupons are then mailed to you. ----- Coalition members! Activate ‘Your’ web link on The Coalition, Inc. web site -----
