I’m not one to subscribe to the race theory, but, as I have occasionally said over the years, if you (evolved man) wish to be the progeny of apes, please be my guest, far be it from me to deny you your heritage, but as for me, and my kind, we were created in the image of GOD ALMIGHTY (Blessings and mercies flow from Him). Just what could be the explanation of the origin of different nations? This is where I will refer to one of the oldest history books we have at our disposal, the Bible, or its progenitor, the Torah. In the Bible, it says “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground…”1 Anyone who does any gardening at all knows that fertile soil is black, especially newly created virgin soil. To change black soil into a white man would require an additional miracle, there is no mention of a miracle changing that soil to white or “ruddy”, as suggested by Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (I suppose bending the truth can be ‘exhausting’). Also, it is obvious the term ‘dust’ is a misnomer. Dust is a result of erosion, skin flaking, dander and manufacturing, situations not applicable to this instance. You can find reference to red and hairy people (Gen. 5:25) and even people ‘as white as snow’ (IIKings 5:25) but these reference new nations, not races. I hope this is at least food for thought for my evolutionist friends. I do not expect you to run out and be baptized, but I do believe enough in your intelligence to expect that you will no longer hold to, and propagate theories that have been generated solely by racism. When the decision is made to use it, this root is used to dissipate mucus and to neutralize poisons(taken as needed; usually consumed not more than one week maximum). Herbs work best in combination with other herbs. Goldenseal in combination with Echinacea gives great balance to the system. If one decides to use Goldenseal it’s important to understand that this herb is like the marines. It accomplishes the mission of cleansing. However during this process the action of Goldenseal, Mother Nature’s antibiotic, destroys bacteria good and bad. Therefore it is important to replace the good bacteria with yogurt. Plain yogurt is Page 05 "It is not power that corrupts, but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts," Aung San Suu Kyi If you would like to report on a recent community event, feel free to send us a brief account of what happened in document format, and we will share it with our readers. The more sugar in the yogurt, as we find in most markets, the less potent the yogurt will be. There are acidophilus capsules, also buttermilk or kefir will do the job as well. Goldenseal can be like a true friend, when you learn how to use it. In mild cases this root is a great way to start the cleansing process. For certain cases considered being more severe, the application of goldenseal is plausible at a specific point in time. For the male and female organs saw palmetto is quite useful. Nettle, sarsaparilla, saw palmetto and bee pollen nourish the prostate. Black cohash, slippery elm and uvi-ursi have a healing effect on the uterus. Black cohash is also recommended for the thyroid as well as kelp, and the amino acid L-tyrosine that we find in fresh bee pollen. Let’s not forget white willow bark, Mother Nature’s aspirin that reduces pain and inflammation. These are just a few herbs, and there are thousands, that can help along the transitional journey to what can be called “Health Wealth”(sm). Each individual is challenged in a way as unique as the individual self. If one is filled with much waste, then the nature of that condition says make the transition a slow process. For women who are with child, don’t do anything drastic. In this case the cleansing process should begin at least two or three months before conception. Healing grace includes drinking the cleanest possible water, again eating salads and other green leafy vegetables should be considered. Extra virgin olive oil and a little lemon juice, with organic sesame tahini make a good salad dressing. For some tastes, balsamic vinegar or a soy cheese dressing work well. It’s a good idea to make extra virgin olive oil your butter, and in some cases almond butter or peanut butter. We might recall the prophet Daniel ate salad at one point instead of eating the king’s dead meat diet. It is so important to remember the adage “moderation is the key”. The Philly Roots Initiative was developed by United Way and its partners in an attempt to systemically, yet creatively, ensure that young African American men graduate from high school and are college and career ready. The program equips formal and informal adult mentors with the tools they need to assist young men in achieving these goals. Eligible applicants include: * Individuals (coaches, community members, leaders of groups or small grassroots organizations) that have worked with the same group of at least five young black men in grades 6-12, for at least one year * Individuals who can commit to making a strong contribution to this emerging community of practice, and who will make a serious effort to increase the capacity and impact of their mentoring work and the broader Philadelphia community * Individuals who have been and will continue to do the work they’ve been doing regardless of whether there is funding or not, or whether they are being compensated to do it, and regardless of where they are employed. Individuals need not be employed or affiliated with a 501(c)(3) organization to apply. Preference will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate that they are serving young black men in grades 6-12 at risk of dropping out of school, who attend schools on United Way’s Targeted Schools List. There is a severe lack of understanding about the modes of production because it is not taught in educational institutions. The reason it is so important to learn about the modes of production is: 1. It deals with who is in power in society and therefore gives you the reasons why certain things are a certain way. It shows the necessity of struggling for power. 2. It shows the most important changes in human development and gives people a weapon to affect change in the people’s interest. 3. It shows that women were in the leadership of society for over 90% of humanities history. 4. It shows that for over 90% of the history of humanity, Page 08 "Because man and woman are the complement of one another, we need woman's thought in national affairs to make a safe and stable government...Whiter is a nation tending when brains count for less than bullion, and clowns made laws for queens?' It shows when exploitation and oppression started and what it takes to get rid of exploitation and oppression. 6. It shows the importance of human labor. It confirms that the people are the makers of history and not individuals and there is honor in being a common person. 7. It gives an organized way of understanding history and is a liberating force for the people who learn it. These are a few reasons to learn about the modes of production. The people who learn have a big responsibility to share and teach the information with as many other people as possible. We do not own the media or the educational institutions in the society so it is on us the powerless masses to get this information to the people. As a start we suggest reading the book, Class Struggle in Africa by Kwame Nkumah. The way to have the biggest impact is to read and discuss the book collectively. History is a weapon. It can be used to inspire or demobilize the people. History in the hands of the masses of the people will be guided by the love of justice and truth. The masses of the people have never been the oppressors; they have been the oppressed. The masses have no reason to hide the truth, but someone who has oppressed the people does have a reason to hide the truth. We call on all oppressed people to organize because organization is a potent weapon of the oppressed. Our goal is to become so organized that we can do in one day what previously took us 20 years. In order to do this everyone must join an organization that is working for the people. P.O. Box 23074 Oakland , CA 94623-0074 U.S.A. A photographer for a national magazine was assigned to take pictures of a great forest fire. He was advised that a small plane would be waiting to fly him over the fire. The photographer arrived at the airstrip just an hour before sundown. Sure enough, a small Cessna airplane was waiting. He jumped in with his equipment and shouted, "Let's go!" The tense man sitting in the pilot's seat swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air, though flying erratically. "Fly over the north side of the fire," said the photographer, "and make several low-level passes." "Why?" asked the nervous pilot. "Because I'm going to take pictures!" yelled the photographer. "I'm a photographer, and photographers take pictures." After a long pause, the "pilot" replied: "You mean, you're not my instructor?" (Kathy Parsons is a regular contributor.)
