A communications ministry, and an internationally respected resource, with useful information and tools to facilitate educational enrichment and empowerment.

(Hosea 4:6)

Since there is no need to re-invent the wheel, the already expressed and time proven principles:

“Communication - Cooperation - Collaboration”  are what we all ought to do our best to facilitate.

“Communicate ... Cooperate ...Collaborate”  As expressed by Dr. John Elliott Churchville  “We each hold a piece to the puzzle,” should not require a rocket scientist or brain surgeon to understand.

Moreover, the statement by Frederick Douglass  “It is easier to build children than it is to repair men ”  should not require an astrophysicist or neurosurgeon to comprehend.

Civility, hospitality and respect for human life (and even for the lives of the God's creatures in nature) were once major hallmarks of the Black community.

Generosity and a voracious appetite for education were trademark characteristics that then could be as closely associated with most Black people as the  "golden arches" now are with McDonald's restaurants.

Empowered by the spirituality and vision of people of faith, the movement for Human Rights that sprung from the African American community has spread around  the globe.

Walls of madness, greed and bigotry that divide members of the human family from other children of God are being torn down.

The impact has spread from Birmingham and Montgomery to Bloemfontein and Johannesburg, Berlin, Moscow and Beijing.

In the tradition of the ancestors, strong values and decency have been clearly articulated by the modern Human Rights movement.

An outstanding example is the message proclaimed by Dr Martin Luther King, Jr at the first mass meeting (5 December 1955) during the bus boycott in  Montgomery, Alabama.

HUMAN RIGHTS must be for ALL Human Beings or else we shall remain an endangered species.

"We need to understand each other's culture.

When we don't understand we fear and when we fear we begin to go our separate ways and that divides us.

We need to honor diversity and each other."

-- Pastor Ron Robinson,

A Look at Our Times

The Human Rights activists and freedom fighters of the recent past (most of whom were young at the time), took a stand to liberate their own communities.

They asked hard questions and demanded intelligent answers.

Today a plague of violence afflicts many communities with perpetrators whose acts would make them excellent poster children for the Ku Klux Klan and  skinheads.

The damages and toll of deaths and injuries inflicted on the populations of many nations by the words and actions of irresponsible public figures  (masquerading as celebrities, entertainers and athletes) is on a scale matching that of such natural disasters as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and  volcanoes. A disproportionate share of pain and suffering is hurled upon the very young and the aged - those least able to handle it.

"Thugocracy," "narcoticracy" and "morontocracy" are being foisted upon the public by some contemporary (or should it be contemptible) "entertainers."

(Apparently there are some people who have a vested interest in the perpetration and perpetuation of self-destructive attitudes and behavior in certain  communities.)

Unfortunately far too many descendants of the people who first established education and civilization now reject and despise their own heritage.

(This is in spite of overwhelming documentation from genealogy, anthropology, DNA research, history and the records of the sacred scriptures of the three  Abrahamic monotheistic religions in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic community.)

The Editor recently received an urgent plea for help from an educator in Africa seeking "materials, methodologies and [other] information to change the  learning culture and environment" in a nation that once was famous for its educational excellence. Today, its educators are challenged by students who  express the attitude "my parents didn't have it so I don't need it," and cry out for help to solve a "problem [that] is bigger than a simple lack of  education." (Does anything sound familiar?)

People want constructive solutions and answers to the problems plaguing society today.

The Power of Words!

The impact of words (written, spoken and sung) is enormous.

With that reality comes responsibility for the consequences of what is uttered and that should be a very sobering thought.

You can't "un-ring" the bell!

Will history ultimately record that the human tongue is the deadliest weapon on the planet?

Those who consider themselves to be "children of Abraham" throughout the Judeo-Christian-Islamic community

should seriously consider the following references.

(It would not hurt for everyone else to at least give it some contemplation.)

Proverbs 18:21

James 3:5 -10

I Peter 3:10 -12

Some Sobering Thoughts For These Serious Times

Looking at the economy, the media, and the political scene, one may wonder:

Are we on the Titanic, the Lusitania or the Poseidon?

Or, are we, like in the days of Christopher Columbus, on a three ship trip?

"All media is educational.

The only question is: 'What does it teach?' "

(If you have any doubts, just watch and listen to your kids!)

("A teachable moment")

Editor's Note:

Science (including genetics, anthropology, archeology and geology), history and the scriptures of the major monotheistic religions all agree that there is,  after all, only one race - the HUMAN race.

Therefore:

We shall continue to remain focused on the resouces, concerns and issues of greatest benefit to our readers who come from more than 170 nations and who  represent most of the families of humanity.

For the sake of our posterity, and our posteriors, we all should govern our lives accordingly.

--30--

On a planet one camel flatulence away from obliteration:

As the planet continues to plunge into more gruesome atrocities,

the time to heed Dr Martin Luther King's message is long overdue!

"The past is prophetic in that it asserts loudly that wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.

One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.

We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.

How much longer must we play at deadly war games before we heed the plaintive pleas of the unnumbered dead and maimed of past wars?

Why can't we at long last grow up, and take off our blindfolds, chart new courses, put our hands to the rudder and set sail for the distant destination, the  port city of peace?"

(Dr Martin Luther King, Jr on 25 February 1967 in Los Angeles.)

Around the world we see dysfunctional households, domestic disputes, divided communities, international atrocities, acts of terrorism and genocide.

News reports constantly display reiterations of Jezebel and Ahab, Cain and Abel, Samson and Delilah as well as accounts of Hard Hearted Hannah and Hard  Headed Homeboy.

("NOBODY wins when the prize is HATE!")

Dr Martin Luther King's "Dream" first came into public view when:

On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks remained seated so that we could all stand up.

Editorial Note:

The word Tahrir means liberation.
It is the name of the now world famous square in Cairo, Egypt.

Allah U Akbar means God is Great.
In Arabic speaking nations the expression is often used by Jews, Christians and Muslims in referring to the One Creator God.

Nkosi Sikelel' IAfrica means God bless Africa.
This prayer and hymn is the national anthem of South Africa.

Ishe Oluwa Koleba Jeo means the Work of God the Creator cannot be destroyed - it shall go on forever.
This West African proverb and song received worldwide acclaim when Quincy Jones used it as the African theme song in the soundtrack of Roots.

Lift Every Voice And Sing is the anthem of the Human Rights and freedom movement in the United States.

Lift Every Voice And Sing

by James Weldon Johnson

Lift every voice and sing,
till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.

Sing a song full of the faith that the
dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
let us march on till victory is won.

Stony the road we trod,
bitter the chastening rod,
felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
yet with a steady beat,
have not our weary feet
come to the place
for which our fathers died?

We have come over a way that with tears have been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
out from the gloomy past,
till now we stand at last
where the white gleam
of our bright star is cast.

God of our weary years,
God of our silent tears,
thou who hast brought us thus far on the way;
thou who hast by thy might led us into the light,
keep us forever in the path, we pray.

Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met thee;
lest our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget thee,
shadowed beneath thy hand,
may we forever stand,
true to our God,
true to our native land.

A Message For These Times

See, what God is saying to us today, through the -- through the transition of Coretta Scott King, is that we, here in this world, right now, are suffering from a -- complications of cancer, from materialism, and -- and greed, and -- and selfishness, and arrogance, and elitism, and poverty, and racism, and perversion, and obscenity, and misogyny. and idolatry, and violence, and militarism.

It's a cancer that's eating away at the very essence and the nature of what God created human -- humankind to be, for, he created us to have rulership in and dominion in the earth, and not allow the earth to dictate to us.

But, now, what has happened... ... is that the very earth, the very creation that he put us in charge of, is now controlling us.

And instead of us reproducing other people who look like God, who talk like God, who act like God, who think like God, who do business like God, who govern like God, who entertain like God, we're not reproducing anything, because the cancer is eating away at us.

He's saying, roles have reversed. Creation has become your king, instead of you being the king, he said, because the very trees that I created for you, instead of you having dominion and authority over them, they are now dictating how your families look, how your friendships look, how your governments look, how your media and entertainment industry look, how your youth population looks, because, in fact, money is made from trees.

And the Bible says that the love of money, not money itself -- see, God didn't have a problem with leaving us riches and -- and wealth -- of -- of materials and resources. He doesn't have a problem with billionaires and millionaires.

In fact, God has left enough for everybody to be a billionaire, in fact. What he has problem with is our affinity to, our loyal to, our soul tied to money in such a way that the love has overtaken us, and now we have escalating divorce rates. And now we have people doing violent things in the street.

He's saying, now we have people that their only preoccupation is, how can I make more money? And he interjected Martin in time to tell America, there is a danger when you become a thing-oriented society, rather than a people-oriented society.

So, Coretta Scott King's transition is calling for a new birth.

And we missed it. We missed the fact that the one who really caught the heart and the spirit of Dr. King and wouldn't let us forget time and time again, as you saw on the video, that it's either nonviolence or nonexistence, that was Coretta Scott King.

She held it down. God gave her the grace to be able to live as long as she did.

And, when she transitioned, she transitioned to a better place. But she left us, as Joshua did with the children of Israel, with this question, or statement: Choose ye this day.

And, if I might abbreviate for her, which way you gonna live?

Eulogy for Coretta Scott King

A Short Essay on the
"Golden Rule"

The golden rule is endorsed by all the great world religions;
Jesus, Hillel, and Confucius used it to summarize their ethical teachings.

And for many centuries the idea has been influential among people of very diverse cultures.

These facts suggest that the golden rule may be an important moral truth.
